Tom Cruise, Leonardo Di Caprio, Will Smith. These are all big names in Hollywood, and though we love them, they will undoubtedly retire at some point. And when that time comes, the next generation of Hollywood stars will replace them. But who are they? Well, let’s take a look at the top 15 promising upcoming young actors and actresses who are destined to become Hollywood legends.

  1. Ezra Miller.

    You may know Ezra Miller as Barry Allen or The Flash. You may also know him as Credence Barebones in the Fantastic Beasts films. With the next Fantastic Beasts movie due next year, Ezra Miller is likely to see his name become even more known across the Potter fandom, due to his prominent part in the films. Unfortunately, the 27-year old’s future is not as clear as it once was after a video appeared online of him choking a woman.

    Noah Centineo is best known for his role as the heartthrob in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and it’s sequel. He also had a role in the Charlie’s Angels remake. His next big part will be He-Man in Masters of the Universe. With prominent roles like that, he is one to watch.

    Lucas Hedges started his movie career when he starred, in a supporting role, in Moonrise Kingdom. Since then, he has starred in some more notable films, including Ladybird and Manchester by the Sea. Lucas has been praised for his versatility as an actor, which has lead to securing his next significant role alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, in French Exit.

    Charlie Plummer was 12 years old when he took on the role of Michael Thompson in Boardwalk Empire. Then in 2017, he played a supporting role in the Ridley Scott movie, All The Money In The World. It was this role that gained Charlie’s recognition. Since then, he has starred in the Hulu series Looking For Alaska and has a couple of other projects worth keeping an eye out for.

    Noah Jupe started acting at the ripe old age of 10 years old. Since then, he has had roles in several big movies, including Wonder, A Quiet Place, and Ford v Ferrari. Noah received a recommendation for A Quiet Place by none other than George Clooney. With that kind of backing, Noah won’t need to worry too much about what the future has in store.

    Timothée Chalamet had previous roles in several shorts and smaller tv roles, though he saw his career start to take off in 2012 with a recurring role in Homeland. However, his name came one to watch after staring in the coming of age comedy/drama Lady Bird. The now 24-year-old has since had a role in Little Women and The King, with more projects on the way.

    Saoirse Ronan received her first Oscar nomination at the age of 13. If that doesn’t indicate an upcoming star, what does? Saoirse’s breakthrough came from a supporting role in Atonement, though her most prominent role came from playing the lead in Lady Bird, for which she won a Golden Globe for best actress. Saoirse also stars in Little Women, another movie in which she worked with Timothée Chalamet.

    Iain Armitage is the youngest on this list at 11 years old. However, that hasn’t stopped him from building up quite a portfolio. Iain started his career on youtube, reviewing theatre productions. 2017 is when his career really took off, as he was cast in the lead role of Young Sheldon, a prequel to The Big Bang Theory. He also had a leading role in Big Little Lies. Keep an ear out for him as a young Shaggy in Scoob!

    Letitia Wright had already made a name for herself with a few notable roles, which she won awards for, though her truly breakout role was as Shuri in Blackpanther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Where do you go after starring in one of the highest-grossing films of all time? Well, Letitia will feature in the movie Death on the Nile, along with having a part in the TV-mini series Small Axe.

    Finn’s first significant role was in the hit TV series Stranger Things as Mike Wheeler. He then had a role in IT and IT Chapter 2. That’s already an impressive resume though Finn Wolfhard doesn’t stop there. Of course, he will resume his role in Stranger Things but is also set to appear in the new Ghostbusters movie.

    Zendaya started out like many young stars have, with a role in a Disney Channel sitcom. Her real breakthrough into movies came with a supporting role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Her supporting role in Spider-Man was followed up by a role in The Greatest Showman alongside big stars Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. Zendaya currently plays the lead in the HBO series Euphoria and has secured a role in the movie Dune. Not bad for a 23-year-old.

    Milly Bobby Brown made her acting debut as a guest on the series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Her most prominent role came in 2016 as Eleven in Stranger Things. Millie has been nominated and won multiple awards for her portrayal as the character. Away from TV, Millie has starred in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which was her debut movie role. She is also set to star in the sequel.

    Maisie Williams had her breakthrough role in Game of Thrones as Arya Stark. She has had some TV roles since then, including a spot on Doctor Who. Additionally, Maisie also has a couple of movies coming out, including The New Mutants, which Disney expects to release later this year. Audiences have watched Maisie grow up, and we are all rooting for her.
